Prof. Joshua Ellul is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Centre for Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) at the University of Malta. His interdisciplinary research spans blockchain, cryptocurrencies, decentralized social media, IoT, and AI, covering both technical foundations and regulatory, ethical, and societal dimensions. He played a key role in establishing Malta’s first DLT-focused academic programs, bridging academia, industry, and policymakers to drive innovation responsibly.
A frequent contributor at international conferences and panels, Prof. Ellul provides expert insights on how emerging technologies can be harnessed to create meaningful, real-world impact.
