Prof. André Xuereb
CEO & Founder, Merqury Cybersecrity
Full Professor in Quantum Physics
Cybersecurity Track

Session Outline:
Our Quantum Future
Quantum technologies promise capabilities that almost seem like superpowers, such as the ability to exist in two places at the same time and the development of ultrafast computers.
In this talk, André will outline how quantum computers work, the new opportunities they create, and why they also pose a threat to secure communications. André will then explore quantum networks, which exploit these same quirks of nature to enable the creation of hack-proof communication systems. The talk will conclude with a number of case studies from Malta, demonstrating how quantum technologies are increasingly being adopted by Maltese businesses.
