Session Outline:

With Great Power ... Comes Great Unpredictability: Spin the Wheel at TechTok

To close TechTok 2026, we are handing part of the conversation over to chance.

Moderated by Alexia Stafrace, Leverage Your EQ, the session brings together Simon Theuma, Malta Startup Space; Prof. Alexiei Dingli, Digital Brain; Greta Rapinett, CX Consultant; and Daniel Thompson-Yvetot, CrabNebula and Comply Land for a fast-moving discussion driven by two spinning wheels.

One wheel will land on one of TechTok’s seven tracks. The other will introduce a completely unexpected topic. The challenge is simple: connect the two, think on the spot, and make the argument work.

Expect sharp thinking, unusual connections, healthy disagreement, humour and a few moments where even the experts may be unsure where the conversation is heading.

About   Daniel

Daniel Thompson-Yvetot serves as Special Rapporteur at ETSI TC CYBER for two harmonised standards under the Cyber Resilience Act standardisation mandate M/606: EN 304 617 on browsers and EN 304 618 on password managers. Both standards have been approved at TC CYBER and entered Public Enquiry. He also holds appointed roles in CEN-CLC/JTC 13 Working Groups 9 and 10, nominated through the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority. He is the author of three books on European software regulation: Manufacturing European Software, Modular Compliance, and Risk, Evidence and Conformity.

This regulatory work builds on his open source background as co-creator of Tauri, a framework for building small, fast, and secure cross-platform applications with Rust. That practitioner’s experience informs his view of what CRA conformity demands from real-world software projects.

Daniel is CEO of CrabNebula Ltd., a Maltese company providing security auditing and tooling for the Tauri ecosystem, and founder of the Comply.Land group, offering regulatory compliance advisory, conformity assessment, and authorised representative services. He was named Maltese Cybersecurity Leader of the Year 2025.
