Session Outline:
Security BI (Biological Intelligence)
This talk highlights how an effective security awareness programme can provide a mature security posture for individuals and organisations, reducing the potential for successful cyber attacks. Attacks are a matter of when, not if, but by working together (professionals, governments, and businesses), we can empower people to better protect themselves and others, delay incidents, and significantly minimise their impact.
The presentation outlines why security awareness programmes can be effective, how to implement them successfully with minimal effort, budget and time, and how they drive behavioural change. Supported by real-world use cases and avoiding deep technicalities, the presentation aims to be accessible to audiences of all technical backgrounds and organisational roles.
About Malcolm
Malcolm has worked in technology for over 20 years, with the last eight dedicated to information security and data protection. Having built security teams, systems and processes in both regulated and non-regulated industries, he has gained expertise in concepts within and beyond the standard security sphere, including specific regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Passionate about sharing security knowledge, he spreads awareness of its importance and effectiveness through his blog and social media, aiming to break down complex concepts into clear and accessible information. Currently serving as the CISO of a multinational fintech startup, Malcolm enjoys assisting young businesses to enhance their security posture and practices, a role he has already successfully fulfilled in the past.
Outside of his professional life, Malcolm loves music, spending precious time with family and friends, all things tech (obviously), and promoting mental health awareness.
